Is it better to connect a LCD monitor using VGA or DVI using a DVI-VGA adaptor?

Your only choice is to connect to the monitor’s VGA jack. You will NOT be able to use the DVI-D port on your monitor– The -D means the DVI port is DIGITAL only, and will NOT work with the ANALOG VGA signal from your laptop, no matter what cable adapters you try to use. If you try to use a DVI-VGA adapter to connect a computer VGA port to a monitor DVI-D input, you will get NO image. Analog is NOT compatible with digital. Neither will you be able to use the HDMI port on the monitor. The HDMI port also only accepts a digital DVI-D video signal and will NOT work with analog VGA.
