Is it better to disclose learning difficulties such as dyslexia on job application forms or not?

only disclose at the time of application if you need an accommodation with the application process the only thing you disclose while applying is if you can do the job with or wothout reasonable accommodations

Yes, you should absolutely disclose it. Because you’re asked to disclose on the application, if you don’t mention it, and then it ends up effecting your job in any way, they have the right to boot you. It’s better to be upfront.

If you don’t disclose any illness or support need on your application that may at some point affect your ability to do your job correctly then you can be dismissed if it causes problems in the future. We have recently had this problem with a colleague who did not disclose his support need. He tried to take us to a tribunal for unfair dismissal but lost due to the fact that he did not make us aware of the problem. The consequences of what he did to cause him being sacked could have been devastating (a child’s life was put at risk). This may not sound very fair, but if you are honest then provisions can be made for you.
