Is it customary to tip outside the United States?
Tipping customs while traveling outside of the United States vary – some countries include a service charge or gratuity automatically; while others frown upon tipping or consider it an insult, and still others are very similar to American and Canadian standards. Our advice is to consult the concierge at your hotel about local tipping customs. When in a restaurant, be sure to read the fine print. Most menus will tell you if gratuity is included.
