Is it dangerous to own a Colombian Red tailed Boa Constrictor?

Hi, you are right red tails do grow fast and large but if you are thinking of raising one from young and handle it on a regular basis then it will grow up into a tame docile animal, a lot of owners consider them as gentle giants, however they do have the power to overwhelm the average human and so most responsible keepers tend to make sure that another adult is present when handling a full grown red tail. I do not wish to put you off keeping one of these amazing animals and many thousands are kept throughout the world and the statistics reveal that you are much more likely to be killed by the family dog. Oh and one answer states that a red tail might try to eat you, this has never ever been recorded so ignore that comment.
