I feel for you and your brother! Although it’s a hackneyed phrase; you can choose your friends but you can’t choose your family is relevant here. It is never ok for any parent to disown their child- we are designed to protect and nurture them under any circumstances, and i’m afraid race doesn’t alter this. I have no tolerance for your parent’s point of view just as they have shown none for your brother’s choice. As my husband always says- it doesn’t matter how close to your own family you are your family is your wife/partner and your kids. Family ties are strong but you are obligated to uphold them, whereas girlfriends/ wives etc are the people you choose to spend your life with. I’m sure many others will criticise your parents, which can be hard to hear- even when they’re in the wrong, but you should feel proud of the support you’ve lent your brother and both he and his girlfriend should feel proud to have had the strength to do what is right for them. I wish you both luck for the fut
