No, it’s not fair to blame the negativity in today’s society on musical influence. In fact, it’s not fair to blame the negativity in today’s society on any form of media, whether it is music, film, or any other art form. In my opinion, if anything is going to have an influence on the negativity in society, it’s going to be major world events (politics, natural disasters, other major events happening in the world, etc.) In fact, I think it could even be successfully argued that the world events that take place at a particular time can have an extremely strong influence on the music and media that is being produced. Really, all the media is really doing is reflecting the negative attitude that is already existing out there in society.
