Is it fair to compare Rick Perry to Rene Levesque the separatist from Quebec?
Quebec has its own language, culture and history. The people there feel very much that they are Quebecois, not Canadian and there is a real, grass roots popular movement behind the rhetoric Levesque espouses. Rick Perry on the other hand is just an Ultra right wing troublemaker, looking to stir up some cheap publicity for his own personal grudges against what he sees as the “Liberalisation” of the US. Most Texans are very proud US citizens, and though the majority of them may not have voted for the current US President, they have no desire to secede. So no…I don’t think it is fair to Levesque to compare him to Perry.
