Is it human nature to believe in things that have zero evidence?
I would argue it’s not Human nature to believe in things that have zero evidence per se, but that the reason people don’t realize these beliefs aren’t supported by any evidence is because the way the brain evolved to gather information simply does not apply well to the modern world. The proper way to gain accurate information in modern society is not intuitively accessible to us, it must be learned which is partly why we have schools. People who believe in Homeopathy, acupuncture and ghosts don’t think there is zero evidence for them because they are tapping into the entirely flawed intuitive way in which our brains gather information. As an aside, acupuncture has been shown to have minor measurable effects beyond a placebo. That doesn’t really belong there in the list.
