A lot of pictures that you’ll find on Google Images are not free to use – you cannot legally use them without permission from the copyright owner. Of course it’s another question whether or not you’ll actually get busted for using them — because this type of copyright infringement is so widespread, the chance that the copyright owner will complain to you is slim, and the worst that (usually) happens is that your video will be removed from youtube. But your question was if it was legal — and with most pics from Google, it’s not. Google images shows the pictures without their original context, so you’ll have to go to the site they’re hosted on to see if you can use them. Professional sites usually have a copyright notice somewhere. Sites like Flickr where users post photos often also allow users to say what they’ll allow people to do with their work: on Flickr you’ll often find Creative Commons licensing information such as this:
