Is it necessary to arrest the outflow of students by taking adequate measure?
The only way the outflow of our students can be arrested is by improving the quality and creating more job opportunities. That is seemingly happening now. In the IT sector particularly, globalization has helped create numerous opportunities, and therefore, more pass outs not only from our formal education sector but also from a large number of training institutions in the informal / private sector. Are our educational institutions so bad that our students need a qualification from abroad? Our education system also offers the same gradation of quality as exists abroad. Some universities are more popular and thus more sought after while others are not. It is this relative difference within the country and on the globe that exists. Like our IIT structure has shown a quality of global standard, even better than several popular universities abroad.
