I have never heard of undercoating a tent trailer. Generally undercoating of a vehicle is done to reduce interior road noise; seal any potential leaks into the vehicle; and protect under-vehicle wiring and equipment from road damage. Some high-end motorhomes have undercoating, but I have never heard of it being done on a tent trailer. Interior road noise is not a concern because no one rides in the trailer; if there are any leaks, you can easily caulk them; and finally, there is not much under-vehicle wiring or equipment to protect (and it is easily repairable if it ever does get damaged). It sounds like a dealer add-on to make some extra money. Also a downside is that it will add weight to the trailer which reduces how much stuff you can put in it before you exceed the maximum weight rating. Also it means more weight to tow, which is especially a concern if you are pulling it with a small marginally powered vehicle. I would say skip the undercoating.
