Is it normal for a faulty gall bladder to mainly only act up at night?

I had gallstones and I woke up a few times at night to vomit because the pain was bad. I thought I had heart burn. The pain for me reminded me of someone grabbing me directly under my ribcage (in the middle of my chest under the bone) and squeezing and letting go then squeezing and letting go. I could not eat anything remotely fatty like you or I would be in terrible pain. I ended up leaving work after eating a breakfast burrito, should have known better. I threw up all day and then my legs started to hurt so I went to the ER. The second they did the ‘does it hurt here’ while poking me in the sore spot, i jumped about a mile. The gall stone got stuck in the duct and I had to be admitted for emergency surgery because it can be serious if they get stuck. After they took my gallbladder out, then I could eat regular food again like breakfast burritos.
