Is it normal to get bad hip pains in pregnancy?

Yes,it’s perfectly normal. I had terrible hip and thigh aches and pains in my last pregnancy 4 months ago.It can mostly be put down to the pressure of the weight gain,However at 17 weeks I doubt it’s actual weight (of the baby) that will be causing this. Throughout your pregnancy your body is bombarded with hormones of which work to soften all the lower body bones, muscles and ligaments to prepare your body for the birth at the end,So obviously you can strain yourself resulting in aches and pains far easier than you would normally. The final possible reason ,as happened to myself, was that not only is the increasing weight putting pressure on your legs and abdomen area, with thec hormones, but baby was laid head down but back to back with me and I ended up giving birth to her in this position which the midwife explained was far more painful in the thigh/leg and back department than regular pregnancy and birth. I would mention it to your midwife if you still worry, though they cannot really

Yes I’m 10 weeks and every once in a while will get bad pains a lot of the time when I stand up my hips will kind of crack I guess and that never happened either until I got pregnant.
