Is it OIL CARTEL activity driving our high petrol pricing?
Well I have restrained myself from posting about high petrol prices and the rip off we have been exposed to for years in Australia. We can try everything, boycotts, bleat about it, but there are those among us that really don’t care, drive company cars, SINK’s with plenty of disposable cash or someone else i.e. the taxpayer puts fuel in their cars. The time to stop the rip-off needed a concerted effort in the years when Shell started to increase the margins between ULP price and top spec petrol price from 5 cents to 10 cents, but these guys didn’t care. So guess what!! Some of us even believed the ACCC would protect us – they didn’t. The second chance was for many of us to believe that the newly elected Rudd Government would live up to its pre-election rhetoric and decisively so something to protect those on fixed incomes or unable to increase their salaries as rising fuel prices hiked grocery prices, But, those prices went sky high when world oil prices peaked, and have never come dow
