Is it okay to keep goat as a pet?
Well, of course, there will be some who look at you weird if you live in the suburbs/city. I’d be more concerned with what the city thinks of it. Before you go out goat shopping call your local animal control and ask if you are allowed, or zoned, for having a goat on your property. They will be able to tell you if you are or are not. Goats make great pets. If bottle fed, they act very much like dogs that want to follow you everywhere. My brother has goats on his farm that, I swear, think they are dogs. They went on walks with us on his property last summer. When we left them behind the pasture fence, they stayed there and tried to find how to get through to us. They stayed put till we got back and walked by our sides all the way back home with us. Their dairy goat walks to her milking stall by herself and hops up on it and stays put till milking is done then hops down and walks back to the pasture. Goats are very cool but can be a lot of work.
