Is it possible for an ISP to monitor account activity (read emails, google history) with high-speed internet?

Absolutely that’s possible, and I believe just a few weeks ago the Federal Government passed a resolution that now requires an ISP to track any illegal activity of a customer that involves the downloading of copy written materials, music, games, movies, etc. The ISP is to alert this type of illegal activity to the proper authorities for possible prosecution. ( Fines ). They’ll wait until arresting the person has stolen enough material to make an arrest worth their time. The Feds need all the money they can get! The writers get a cut of the fines for the money they have lost for the pirated materials. This is just one of the first steps in controlling the internet.
