Is it possible to analyze beams of varying depth?
STRUDS® does not support prismatic sections such as varying depth beams. But a similar model can be obtained by dividing the beam into a number of elements and applying sections of reducing depths to these elements. The effect in analysis will be closer to that of a prismatic section. The degree of accuracy will depend upon the number of divisions in the beam. More divisions will give more accurate results.
