Is it possible to determine if 2 males having the same surname belong to the same paternal lineage?

This is possible since, the Y chromosome (part of DNA that determines male sex) is inherited from father to son. The regions of Y chromosome tested remain the same for over 10 generations. Thus if 2 males having the same surname and have the same Y chromosome means that they have the same ancestor.  more
