Is it proven that Crocs shoes cause electrostatic discharge problems?
I suspect that testing for medical care equipment is similar to that of others, namely, that the hardware includes testing for resistance to ESD. One manufacturer I’ve worked for had a setup that included a Faraday cage (for testing EMI/RFI compliance) and a static discharge gun for ESD. I believe your best bet for authoritative information would be to reference the certifications for the products in question. Your profile does not indicate your location, although I suspect you are in the US. In this case, it’s highly likely that your equipment is certified for compliance with FDA, FCC and CE standards, and probably ISO and ANSI as well. You should be able to find details on ESD testing with each respective standard. In general, equipment used specifically for therapy or diagnostics is generally well-tested and resistant to EMI, RFI and ESD. For example, cell phones have been shown specifically to be a rare source of problems for care equipment.
