I would not blame government if they speak honestly, in the first place. The morning after Typhoon Ondoy hit the country, the NDCC had a meeting. One government official said that NDCC responded faster than the US government in Hurricane Katrina did, and than the Taiwan government in another storm. What??? At that time and even days later, many people were waiting to be rescued, more remain hungry and thirsty and a lot were left homeless. Ironically, the same line was mouthed by NDCC Chair Gilbert Teodoro. Why can’t government just do its job and avoid tooting its own horn. Let others say it and give you a pat on the back, if indeed you did your job. In Marilao, Bulacan, I personally saw the municipal fire truck in front of the house of the Mayor’s daughter-in-law. There was no fire. Hint: all of the houses in the poblacion were submerged in water and THICK mud. The mansion of the daughter-in-law is in the poblacion.
