Is it rude to invite people to the wedding dance only?

Send out a separate invitation to the people you only want at the wedding dance. OR, what people in our community do is purchase an ad in our local newspaper, inviting friends to their dance (the wedding location, time and date isn’t even mentioned in the ad). Don’t send the people that you’re not inviting to the ceremony the regular invitation.
