Is it safe to travel to Tajikistan?
The security situation in Tajikistan is safe and stable. During the last five years there have been no significant violent incidents of a political or terrorist nature and no attacks on foreigners. Tajikistan had a civil war from 1992-1997, and although law and order was restored in the late 1990s, the country’s reputation has unfortunately taken longer to recover. The Tajik people have a rich tradition of hospitality and are very friendly towards foreigners. Travellers who have visited Tajikistan with us have felt safe and welcome. Please consult your government’s travel advice and do ask us if you have any particular concerns.
