GAME WEEK: (19) BYU vs. Colorado State September 21st, 2009 @ 3:50pm After posting a 2-1 nonconference record to start the season, the Cougars will open Mountain West Conference play against Colorado State on Saturday. BYU has a 12-game home win streak in league contests, eclipsing the old mark of six held by Utah and Colorado State. The Cougars last suffered a MWC loss on Nov. 19, 2005 in a 41-34 overtime thriller to Utah. The Cougars are coming off a 54-28 loss to Florida State in their home opener last week, while the Rams come to Provo after defeating Nevada, 35-20. Saturday also marks CSU’s conference opener. GAME WEEK: (16) BYU vs. (7) TCU October 19th, 2009 @ 4:30pm Coming off a 38-28 win at San Diego State last week, No. 16 BYU (6-1, 3-0 MWC) hosts No. 8 TCU (6-0, 2-0 MWC) in its homecoming game at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. MT. Both teams enter Saturday’s contest undefeated in Mountain West Conference play, with the Horned Frogs looking to extend an eight-game overall win streak. The Cougars on the other hand haven’t lost a league game at home since 2005. TCU defeated Colorado State, 44-6, last weekend and hopes to keep its BCS busting hopes alive with a win over the Cougars. Back in 2008, BYU ended up selling out quite a number of games at the LaVell Edwards Stadium. It was up to 12 games, which averaged up to 64,000 fans. That’s quite an impressive mark.
