Is it time they changed the rule book and didn make widowers repay benefits after remarriage?
This is horrible. I live in Brooksville, FL and I had not seen this article yet. Her husband served his country and was 100% disabled – service-connected. He paid premiums for that life insurance. She is entitled to it. She paid taxes on it. Now because she has decided to remarry, she is being penalized. So she should have chosen to just live with her fiance instead? This is totally disgusting and sounds illegal to me. I hope they get this straightened out for her. It’s wrong and disrespectful to military service people and their families. Their lives are more difficult than many other people, especially the wives and children who have to relocate every time there is a transfer.
