Is it true that the colour purple symbolizes fake/pretending?
The first things that come to mind when visualizing the color purple is divinity, royalty, great wealth. I also think of Easter and specifically that Jesus is always depicted with a purple cloth, so perhaps resurrection could be associated with the color purple. Now I have never associated the words fake and pretending with the color purple, however when I think about it, I suppose it could be suitable. I’d call it imagination. I have seen paintings of children dressed up like kings and queens in a playful show of imagination and pretend. Often fairy tales evoke in the mind the color purple, as well as many sorts of fantasy stories. These kinds of stories are all derived from imagination which is a function of high minded people and those prone to explore things outside of the box of our day to day world, and generally come up with unusual ideas and ways of perceiving things.
