Is it true that the Ku Klux Klan Hated black people?

I’ve lived in the Deep South most of my life. I have known Klan members. The Klan has always hated people of color, specifically African Americans. They also hate: Roman Catholics Jews Homosexuals Southern Europeans (Italians, Greeks, Spaniards) Any faith that is not rightwing Protestant Christianity (see the Christian Identity movement) Under David Duke’s leadership, they switched to tailored suits and kept the hoods for special meetings. They still hate and continue to hate. Because Malcolm X shared their views about whites and blacks remaining segregated, he actually met with them when he was still a radical. I live in Mississippi and the film “Mississippi Burning” is so factually wrong about the actual events of the Goodman-Schwerner-Chaney murders, I instead recommend Willie Morris’s outstanding book “The Courting of Marcus Dupree”, a journal of Philadelphia, MS, where the murders ocurred.
