I think it’s a very responsible way of controlling population and, in effect, ensuring a better future for the citizens. I only wish more countries would implement this policy. I am disgusted by the people who seem to make giving birth their “profession.” Notice I did not say “child-rearing” because once they have these poor little babies, they fail to take any responsibility for them. Not to mention all the children placed for adoption around the world. How can one justify “popping out a litter” when there are so many children in need of families??? I understand the emotional desire to bear a biological child. I have two children. Yes, TWO! I am guilty of overpopulating the planet based on emotional decision making. But I STOPPED! The thing people always ask me when they find out that I am remarried is if my husband will I have children of “our own.” The answer is “We already do.” Even though they are not his biological children, they are still his.
