I do not really consider IVF as justifiable. It is expensive and it consumes tax-payer funded resources. It has become a toy for the lesbian and "psychologically infertile" sections of society who want to make men optional at best. It's results are little better than "okay" and the stored embryos, sperm and ova are socio-political and lobbyist's footballs. BUT Adoption is riven with all sorts or bueaucratic nastiness. Often couples who are medically infertile are judged unsuitable to adopt as well, and there is all this social engineering PC that puts pressure on adoptive patents to raise the child according ot it's birth culture. Statement of interest: My fiance and I have found that we will face certain medical infertility issues. I have looked into adoption. Unless you are an American movie star, adoption takes years and is full of bureaucratic issues. It sucks.  more
