Is joining the Marine Corps reserves a good idea?

Joining active or reservist is a GREAT. Having served in both Marine Active and Reserve, i can share my experience. Well it is pretty simple Active you work everyday and go to the field. The reserves you go 2 weekends a month and then you have to attend 2 week training wherever your unit is located. As long as you are serving your Country it is a GREAT thing. Active Duty personnel seem to frown on the Reservist because the are part time. We use to call them weekend warriors. I will also tell you that Marine Reserve units get called up a lot more now for deployments. In the past people joined the reserves to continue school and avoid going to combat.
