Kingfisher Airlines is a relatively new Indian carrier, founded in 2003. The airline is based in Mumbai, India, and boasts a very modern fleet of 66 aircraft, including Airbus A319s, A320s, A321s, A330s and ATR-42s and ATR-72s. In their short existence, only one incident has occurred, when an ATR-72 aircraft over-shot the runway upon landing in Mumbai. There were no injuries or fatalities amongst the 46 passengers and crew. In terms of service, Kingfisher Airlines is one of only six airlines in the world to have been awarded 5-star status by SkyTrax. It is the only Indian airline to be awarded 5 stars. In 2014, the airline will start to take deliveries of at least five Airbus A380 aircraft.
