Is Kynar better than Teflon?
Kynar has better chemical resistance and is applied much heavier (with a 5 coat system) which will achieve a coating thickness of .015″ – .040″. Along with this extra coating, comes better abrasion resistance and a higher price tag. Teflon has good chemical resistance and is applied in a 2 coat system, which will achieve a coating thickness of .002″ – .005″. The abrasion resistance is not as good as the Kynar coating.
