We have yet to hear personally of a tourist catching malaria in El Nido. But, mosquitos abound anywhere in the Philippines. Hence, it would be wise to apply mosquito repellent diligently. Marina Garden’s Native Cottages have screened windows and come with mosquito nets for guests.
