05/06/09 Jackson mayor Frank Melton, still alive Posted: May 6, 2009 10:33 AM Updated: May 6, 2009 12:06 PM JACKSON, MS (WLBT) – A source close to the Melton family tells WLBT Jackson mayor Frank Melton is still alive. The mayor had a major cardiac event Tuesday night. He was found unresponsive at his home when AMR crews arrived. CPR was performed and Melton was breathing when he arrived at St. Dominic. His wife arrived overnight. We are aware of rumors circulating about the mayor’s death, but they are not true. He is in the Critical Care Unit at St. Dominic.
