Is moonstone the same as opal?

0

No. Moonstone is a type of feldspar, and generally comes in colors ranging from a milky white to various shades of blue. Sometimes moonstone will have a yellowish tint. Opal, on the other hand is basically a silica (glass) with a lot of water trapped inside and its colors can run the gamut of the spectrum. That’s the short answer anyway. 😉 But no, they’re not the same.
