Is Morocco considered part of Europe or part of Africa?

0

Since Morocco is on the African continent, it is geographically considered a part of Africa, though Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt are usually called “North Africa” and linked together with the Middle East with the title MENA (Middle East/North Africa). Moroccans do not see themselves as African, typically – they will say “Arab” first. Morocco’s culture is closer to Middle Eastern and European (specifically French) cultures than it is to most African cultures, although in the south of Morocco and the disputed Sahara territory, things are arguably more African. Morocco is, however, an associate EU member, but will likely never be a full member of the EU.
