Is my 43 day old English Mastiff puppy okay?
This poor baby has been through a LOT, and is probably just exhausted. Ten minutes is enough, you are right. Now, you say that he is only 43 days old? It is not legal to have shipped this puppy under 8 weeks, and he is far too young to have been taken away from his mother. He also still needs puppy formula! I don’t know where this breeder’s head is at, but I have an idea. Please get him some puppy formula right away – his body is far too young to be trying to digest adult food – give that away, you won’t need it for another 6 months. My guess is that not only his GI tract is not able to assimilate the food, but he is also low on blood sugar as well. He needs dog milk, and NOW! If you cannot get him dog milk replacer – available at big pet supply chains, you can feed him goat’s milk, or the following recipe is an age-old breeder’s recipe: one can evaporated milk, refill the can with water and add to the milk, one egg yolk, no white, 1/2 teaspoon Karo corn syrup mix in a blender, just a
