No, this is just a number which various goverment agencies and employers use to keep records of your social security and national insurance contributions status. Firstly, how on earth do you expect to afford to pay your bills if you have no income as Housing Benefits will ONLY pay the rent for you, not your gas, electric, water, tv licence, food, etc etc etc. If your parents are going to help your out financially then Housing Benefit will need to be informed as this will be considered as an income and treated as such. If you have no income from anywhere the only way to prove this is to provide 3 recent consecutive b bank statement to prove you have no income. You will also be required to provide an explanation as to how you are coping financially (i.e. how you are paying your bills, food etc). They may also ask you to provide bank statements again at a later date. My advice would be to claim Jobseekers Allowance approx £51/wk (if aged under 25years), you will also get Full Housing Bene
