A description of the GEP method can be found here . The paper is referenced: Ferreira, C., (2001). Gene Expression Programming: A New Adaptive Algorithm for Solving Problems, Complex Systems, 13 (2): 87 – 129. I will contrast the methods. GEP evolves program trees while NEAT evolves neural networks, but since both evolve structures they are worth comparing.
