Is NIIT University governed by the Government or by a Trust?
Sponsored by a not-for-profit Society, NIIT Institute of information Technology, which is created by NIIT Ltd, will be regulated by the GOR and GOI. Details: NIIT University is sponsored by NIIT Institute of Information Technology, a not-for-profit Society registered under the Societies Act (XXI) of 1860. Once notified as a Private University, it will be regulated by the Government of Rajasthan and by the Central Government. But as any notified university, it will be an autonomous self-governed body which will manage its own academic operations.
