We need a link to the second interstate line to ensure reliable delivery of energy to Oregon homes and businesses, which is why we want to build the pipeline from Eastern Oregon to Molalla. • A second phase could include a western segment to serve an LNG plant, if one is approved on the Columbia River. NW Natural is considering building this pipeline extension as the most direct way to bring natural gas to its customers. By bringing gas directly to its distribution system using this pipeline, NW Natural can avoid using the interstate pipeline system and save transportation costs savings that will be passed on to customers.
