Is Parkinsons disease a terminal illness?
Parkinson’s is a degenerative neurological disease of the central nervous system. Parkinson’s is not terminal in the same sense as terminal cancer but it is not curable and is a life changing illness even with minimal disease. Advanced Parkinson’s can be worse than dying in my opinion. My father has had aggressive advanced Parkinson’s that not longer responds to drugs for several years now and for him a quiet death would be a blessing. Parkinson’s also means you will be prone to numerous other ailments, including dementia, incontinence and the loss of balance to such an extent that you frequently fall and break bones. http://en.wikipedia.
