Is particle pollution more dangerous than ozone pollution?
Both particle pollution and ozone pollution are harmful, but particle pollution can have immediate impact on people – causing heart attacks, asthma attacks – and can be fatal within a few hours to a few days of someone being exposed to high levels that occur in large parts of the United States. Breathing particle pollution in over long periods of time—even at relatively low levels – as also been proven to shorten lives by months to years.
