Is Piano hard to learn?

0

It takes a lot of time, and a lot of practice. I knew the basics before I started formal piano lessons. I took five years of lessons and have been playing the piano for fourteen years total. I still have a lot to learn. It is just like any other hobby…the more you practice, the better you will get. It is tempting to want to play the things that come easily and bypass the challenging tasks, but believe me…when you master the challenging task, the results are worth it. I disliked my lessons because I was forced to overcome the difficult portions. I never loved playing the piano until my last year of lessons. I have enjoyed it ever since! The best tip I can give you is to try and learn your notes before the lessons. If you know the notes and how to read them on music, it will give you a BIG head start on the lessons. Check out this YouTube video. The guy really has some good points in it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?

From my own experience, I can say that learning the piano is hard. It takes much effort and time. And it is better to take lessons with a teacher, especially in the very beginning. Also, I find using modern music software to be helpful. I really like Fortenotation https://www.fortenotation.com/en/blank-staff-paper-manuscript-paper-printable-pdf/. It allows me to write the chord down, save my music ideas as a PDF file, and print it out directly.

Yes, it’s not easy, but the main thing is that you like it and you are diligent and accept failures. Read the post on crosseyedpianist.com to help you get motivated
