Is Pre-pregnancy Liposuction safe?

0

Liposuction can be performed in women prior to childbirth or following childbirth. Patients who are good candidates for liposuction have isolated areas of stubborn “pockets” of fatty tissue that is resistant to exercise. Patients that achieve the best results have excellent skin elasticity that “shrinks” back nicely following fat removal. Following childbirth, many women’s abdominal skin no longer has good elasticity and has numerous stretch marks. These patients are not ideal candidates for liposuction of the abdomen and may be better served from an abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).
