Is prostitution acceptable among Asians or Asian-Americans?

Asians and Asian Americans are two large groups with a lot of diversity within each, so I can only comment on the general level of social acceptance of prostitution V individual countries, families and people naturally have varying beliefs. In general, Asians and Asian Americans tend to much more conservative attitudes towards sex, romance and marriage than the Anglo-American culture. For example, in many Asian cultures, even dating is taboo, not to mention sex before marriage. So, no, prostitution is not socially acceptable. Having little knowledge about the Bay Area or prostitution, I cant explain why it appears that most prostitutes are Asian, but I can throw out some hypotheses.
