Is Psychotherapy effective?
Research has shown that psychotherapy can be very effective in reducing symptoms, improving relationships with others, increasing self esteem and life satisfaction. However, each individual must work together with Dr. Li in order for treatment to be progressive and useful. The benefits of attending psychotherapy sessions may extend well beyond the treatment period itself. Research has demonstrated that psychotherapy, in particular cognitive-behavioural therapy are as effective as pharmacotherapy in treating depression and anxiety disorders. The advantage of psychotherapy over pharmacotherapy is that practically no side effects are present.
