Is red tide going away?

There is some good news for boaters and fishermen concerned about red tide. According to Bay News 9’s partner, the Bradenton Herald, there is a decline in red tide throughout Manatee County. However, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it’s difficult to say for sure if red tide is going away. Red tide is a naturally occurring bloom of algae in the Gulf. The recent outbreak is being blamed for dozens of manatee deaths.
