I’ve seen white wine sangria offered at restaurants before, but you can usually tell from the menu description whether the wine is white or red. The thing to be careful of, though, is that many sangria recipes also call for other alcohols. Often brandy, and I’ve seen some with rum. If your doctor is limiting your alcohol intake, this could be a problem. Granted, the amount of brandy or whatever is usually fairly small in relation to the other ingredients (it’s just there to give it a “kick”), but if this is a strict rule, then you’ll need to be careful. The only thing to do is ask your waiter if you’re ordering it in a restaurant. If they don’t know off the top of their heads, it wouldn’t be any problem to ask the bartender whether the sangria contains alcohol besides wine. If it doesn’t, well then…cheers!
