Is Seventh Day Adventist vegetarian anything to do with ethical treatment of animals, or for health/law only?

Seventh-day Adventists are very health-oriented and operate the largest Protestant Parochial Health Care system in the world. However, less than 50% of Adventists are vegetarians. Although I was raised a vegetarian, I am no longer one. I think, many are vegetarians for health reasons, but some include the treatment of the animals as a part of their decision-making process. Others, feel very strongly that is healthy for the environment. So, there are a number of factors that can contribute to the decision. I think, also, that because Seventh-day Adventists are Creationists and believe in a literal seven day creation by God, just as outlined in Genesis 1 and 2, we view vegetarianism as being more like the original diet that God provided for human beings to eat. Good question.
