Is SFRC suitable for concrete structures that are embedded with services?
As steel fibres are “discontinuous”, they do not interfere with these embedded services. In addition, steel fibres do not need concrete cover as compared to conventional reinforcement and that would allow more space and flexible arrangements for the services. However, preparation at planning stage has to be right to avoid hacking of concrete at post-construction stage.
